FINANCIAL LITERACY IS A SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUE
Financial literacy is a gatekeeper to financial independence. The more of us committed to learning about how to live below our means, cash flowing expenses, and investing to build wealth, the more financially secure we can all become. Financial security enables us to walk away from toxic environments, pay for preventive healthcare, care for loved ones, and advocate for others.
FINANCIAL LITERACY IS NOT ENOUGH
There are systems of oppression that impact one's ability to build wealth. We focus on learning about how to build wealth while recognizing that racism, colorism, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, sexism, and other forms of oppression interfere with equitable access to financial security.
PERSONAL FINANCE IS PERSONAL
Budgets should reflect your personal values. Debt-payoff journeys are impacted by employment status, income and dependents. What you choose to invest is in a reflection of your current knowledge and risk-tolerance. What works for one person, will not work completely for another person. At the end of the day, only you know what's best for you based on your available choices.
